Created, written by and starring Rose Matafeo, Starstruck gives the comedian the chance to capitalise on her slightly chaotic but utterly charming persona, playing a self-deprecating New Zealander. Dubbed Cinderella meets Notting Hill in some quarters, Disney’s teen-oriented cable musical centers on the budding romance of a young pop star (Sterling Knight) who literally bumps - hard - into a smarter-than-average-teenybopper Jessica (Danielle Campbell) who’s not particularly smitten by the trappings of his celebrity. ![]()
